The Visitation, by Frank Peretti (Book Review)

"Sometimes the best way to see Christ is to take a long, hard look in the mirror."

Travis Jordan, a former pastor of a church that he started with his wife, lives in Antioch Washington, hoping to hide from his tragic past. Antioch is the perfect place to live a quiet life, nothing ever happens. That is, until a strange man, Brandon Nichols, claims to be the Messiah and draws hundreds of people into believing that he is Jesus. But Travis can tell that this man is up to no good. As Travis encounters the truth about Brandon's past, he must trust God and let his life be used...

"In the presence of God, even the impossible becomes possible."

This is my second time reading The Visitation and man it was crazy. I re-read it because my friend read it and I forgot a lot of details about it. The plot is really interesting and I loved the depth of the character development. I think that this book had a lot of good lessons and good character's. The story is about the coming of the anti-Christ and I think Frank Peretti's concept of it was very interesting. I really enjoy Frank Peretti's writing and what I like about this book is that we went into the main characters past. Although because of that it was a little slow, I think knowing the main character's past is really cool, because then we know more about him and where he comes from. In his past the love story was really sweet and heartwarming. Due to this book being about spiritual war and demons etc. it does get a little intense, but there is always God in the midst of darkness.

I recommend this book for ages 13+ and give it and 8 out of 10.
