Emily Climbs, by L.M. Montgomery (BOOK REVIEW)

"Houses are like people-some you like and some you don't like-and once in a while there is one you love."

Emily is growing more beautiful day by day and is excited for the coming years. Her writing has become increasingly better since she was 11. Life becomes even more exciting when Aunt Elizabeth allows Emily to go to the Shrewsbury High School with Ilse and Teddy. But Aunt Elizabeth has one condition, for the time that Emily goes to Shrewsbury, she must not write stories. Emily decides that she can endure this condition, but is discouraged that she has to stay with Aunt Ruth. Emily navigates her life during her high school years and deals with thoughts and decisions that she never has before. Emily knows that she likes Teddy over all the other boys, but Teddy doesn't seem to want to be more than her friend.

Emily Climbs, by L.M. Montgomery is the second book in the Emily of New Moon series. It is a captivating story and I really enjoyed it. I love Emily's character and always enjoy Montgomery's writing. Emily is a very relatable character and I think that's what I find so attractive to this series. This story deals with the questions of love, the joy of life and the sorrows that come with it. If you want a relaxing "feel good" story to read this is definitely the book to read!

I recommend this book for ages 12+ and give it a 9 out of 10.
