A Wrinkle In Time (2018 MOVIE REVIEW)

After reading the book I was excited to hear that there was a movie for A Wrinkle In Time. But after seeing the trailer I was a little skeptical as to the movie following to book. But I decided that I might as well watch it to judge it!

Meg Murry is different from the other kids and doesn't want to be like them. She had great grades before her dad went missing. On one dark stormy night the most obscure things happen. A strange lady named Mrs. Whatsit makes her way into the Murry family's circumstances. Meg, her friend Calvin and her brother Charles Wallace go on an adventure tessering throughout different parts of the universe in search of her father. But it turns out that there is a great evil throughout the universe and the search turns into a rescue mission.

One of the first things that I didn't like was the way Meg looked. It didn't follow the description of her looks in the book at all which was a let down because I had an idea of how she looks in my head. Another thing that was changed is the fact that her brothers Sandy and Dennis weren't ther and Charles Wallace is adopted. A lot of little things were changed that just made me go "Wait, what?". The order of events were a bit different and character genders were swapped.

Obviously it was a movie and they took the book and adapted it for television but they changed a lot that didn't need to be. One of the things that made me really love this book was the moral lesson. They took Jesus right out of the story and that obviously made the struggle in the story much different. So, the book was better!

I'll give this movie a 6 out of 10.
