Laurie is one of the first people on earth to see a Tripod. What are these things? Laurie and his friend Andy are sleeping in a barn when a Tripod lands. They are horrified. When they see the Tripod they know that their lives will never be the same. 

After the invasion of the Tripods a show called “The Trippy Show” is made and it hypnotizes anyone who watches it. People who watch the show start living in houses together and become mind controlled. 

When Laurie’s family starts going “trippy”  his life changes by the second. 

What is Laurie going to do about it? How is he and his family going to survive without being “capped”?
