Invitation-The Harbingers Cycle One (BOOK REVIEW)

I couldn't put this book down. Definitely a thriller! This book follows the lives of four people who have gifts they don't understand. They are brought together (By the hand of God) and soon come to find out that they have been chosen to fight off growing darkness and evil in the world. 

I really enjoyed this book and love how there are separate books that brings a story from each of the characters mind.  It is really cool to be inside the minds of each character and understand their character and then see how they change in the following books.

Each of the Harbinger books are split up into four parts. Four authors write these book and so what they did is have 4 books in one cycle. 

From the minds of Bill Myers, Frank Peretti, Angela Hunt, and Alton Gansky, The Invitation compiles the first four episodes of Harbingers, each following a different character. 

CHARACTERS:

BRENDA--the street-hustling tattoo artist who sees images of the future

THE PROFESSOR--the atheist ex-priest ruled by logic

ANDI--the professor's brilliant but geeky assistant who sees inexplicable patterns

TANK--the naïve, big-hearted jock with a surprising connection to a healing power

BOOK 1 “THE CALL” BY: BILL MYERS

In book one of The Invitation all four of the characters meet. Brenda and three other strangers discover an evil institution that demonizes children. They find a little boy who is being trapped there. Can they rescue him?

BOOK 2 “THE HAUNTED” BY: FRANK PERRETI

In book two of The Invitation, the four characters, to Brenda’s disliking, find themselves together again. In the haunted they fight a supernatural mystery of murder and a living house that has the ability to appear and disappear. What is behind this? Will they discover the murderer?

BOOK 3 “THE SENTINELS” BY: ANGELA HUNT 

In book three of The Invitation Andi starts having disturbing dreams of animals suddenly dying. When that dream becomes reality terrible things start happening. Will the team be able to get to the root of the problem before it gets out of hand?

BOOK 4 “THE GIRL” BY: ALTON GANKSY 

In the final book of The Invitation A young, barefoot girl holding a scroll is discovered by Tank and his uncle. This creates a large mystery for Tank and the Harbinger team. Where did this girl come from? Why does her eye color change? Why is someone trying to kill her?

I would recommend this book for 13+

There are a lot of intense parts in this book. If you are sensitive to certain scary and intense things then this book is probably not for you :)
