All She Wanted, by Nicole Deese (BOOK REVIEW)

"But the only way to overcome our past, is to deny it's power over our future."

Everything about Charlie Lexington is a second chance. Though she was rescued by a foster family at the age of five, her past is a lingering reminder of what she longs for most.
After a series of less-than-stellar choices at her elite music school, her Performing Arts Scholarship now hangs by a thread. The suspension will not only force her to move home...it will cost her so much more than she ever expected.
Briggs is the charming, yet all-too-mouthy fireman who is asked to keep an eye on the pretty little spitfire. He quickly learns, however, that his first assessment of her was wrong...she's tougher than she looks. When her stubborn resolve pushes his sanity and intercepts his heart, his loyalties are put to the test. Sometimes the hardest choice we make is the one we must make for love.

“Whoever said that life on a tour bus was glamorous, was probably the same person who thought Spam was a good idea.”

This book was so good. Yup, those are my thoughts! Just kidding. I liked this one better than the previous book in this series. I feel like I connected to the characters in this one, way more. I absolutely loved the piano aspect of this book. I'm kind of partial to the piano, so it was a vibe. From the first page, I was just completely lost in this book. It didn't feel like a book, it was more like a blur. Now, in my head, I just have this entire life story put away. Even so, some of the circumstances and chances in this book were very unrealistic. I didn't mind I that much though, because that's what romance books are for, right? They just leave you dreaming. (I know, I'm really cringy.)
Nicole Deese's writing is so relatable. Like, you start to wonder, "Where are the cameras in my house?" The humor and brutally honest truth just oozes from Deese's writing.
The romance was actually so cute. Briggs actually made it onto my...*clears throat*...Book Bf List. YES. I HAVE THAT. IN REAL LIFE. *clears throat again* It's completely normal, for any delirious teenage girl that spends all her free time reading romantic books.
Anyways, enough about me. I loved this book. There is definitely a gap in the book world, of good solid, faith-building...romances. Ah, yes. But, I'm serious. Nicole Deese is a breath of fresh air.
This wasn't my most favorite book in the world, it definitely had it's flaws, but I'm here for it.

I give this book a 7 out of 10 and recommend it to ages 14+
