I Have Lived a Thousand Years (BOOK REVIEW)

This book follows the life of 13 year old Elli Friedmann as she survives the concentration camps or as she calls them "Death Camps". Elli lives through the horrors of the Holocaust with her mother. She doesn't know if the next minute she is going to the gas chambers or if she is going to get shot because she said something wrong or the Nazi's just want to have some "fun".

This book guides you through the horrors and pain that almost every Jew went through during that time.
It is a little difficult to get through because of how heavy the topic is, but I think that we need to understand these things and not disregard it.

This book really explains and helps you understand a little bit of what it must have been like living in those death camps. It gets you a little view of what it must have been to grow up in a world that hated you. I can't imagine going through that.

Livia Bitton-Jackson is such an amazing author and doesn't make you feel like you are a viewer of the character's life, but that you are a part of it. She allows you to understand the thoughts and the fears of the character and makes it much more intimate.
